Zoo Lights & Christkindlmrkt
12.22.16 It was a fun trip . And we sure did have a pleasant evening temperature-wise for walking around the zoo. And that lion was sure performing for us all with his roaring!!!!! We really enjoyed the zoo and pizza and of course the company. Tomi & Tom F.
We arrived at Christkindlmrkt just as they were ready to open. The timing was perfect, as the crowds had turned into shoulder-to-shoulder people about the time we were ready to leave. This was 2 days after the sub-zero temperatures we had, so many of the passengers mentioned what a nice "warm" day it was.
Congratulations to the City of Chicago for still exhibiting their large Nativity!
The pigeons found a nice warming station.
There was a nice large heated building that we could duck into for a bit with plenty of merchandise to choose from.
There were plenty of food vendors throughout the market. I always have to have potato pancakes.
Upon ariving at our designated pickup location, we found that the "bucket drummers" had relocated themselves from Wrigley Field to this corner.
After spending 1 1/2 hours at the market, it was time for lunch and warming up at Connie's Pizza.
The beautiful poinsettia tree was a great photo opportunity.
We arrived at Lincoln Park Zoo just before dusk.
Some of the big cats that were housed indoors.
As we headed out of the city, we made a stop at the Museum Campus, where you get the best view of the Chicago Skyline.
This was the last trip in 2016. We hope to see everyone in 2017!
