Wizard of Oz
The Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Illinois totally blew us away with the fabulous production of "Wizard of Oz"! I have to say it was probably the best production of a stage play I have ever seen with its fantastic scenery and special effects, and that includes shows I've seen in New York and Chicago. They outdid themselves on this one!
The theatre sits on the Fox River, giving a lovely and soothing setting. We enjoyed a nice buffet lunch across the street in the Meyer Ballroom.
Many thanks to Diane N. for allowing me to use some of her pictures.
Sorry............no pictures of our lunch this time. I must have been hungry and just dug in.
Paramount always has a backdrop in the lobby for a great photo opportunity. They outdid themselves on this one as well. The group photo includes those we were able to gather up at the end of the show.
Lovely Christmas decorations for Christmas in the theatre lobby.
Paramount always offers a beverage to go with the theme of the show.
I was seated in the center of the row, so I did not want to disturb everyone by exiting the row to take pictures. Many cooperated very nicely and turned around for a few shots.
Not great photos from my seat. The photos certainly do this show no justice.
It was still daylight and we were on our way home. A couple of quick pictures of Christmas lights in a park heading out of town after a superb, heart-warming day!
