10.15.15  Just letting you know that this was a GREAT tour and so much fun. Bonnie and I had a very enjoyable day and the weather cooperated for all of us. The food at Tabor Hill was superb. Yummy! We are looking forward to the different wineries on the spring tour.  Thanks for organizing an excellent tour.   LouAnn N.

It was a magnificent October day as we headed to Baroda, Michigan and Michigan City, Indiana to visit 4 wineries for wine tastings and lunch.  We were limited to 30 participants, due to fall being the busiest time of year.  We definitely understood this after seeing the large number of people at each of the wineries.

Our first stop was Tabor Hill Winery, where we were greeted and taken to their nearby vineyards to learn about grape-growing and how the grapes are processed into wine.

Then on to their processing location.

We then moved into their small original processing area.  They've certainly come a long way!

Then to the private tasting room.

And the lovely private dining room before we entered.  It was so pretty, I had to get a picture.

We had 3 choices from their menu - Vegetable Wellington

Chef's Salad

or Cuban Sandwich - each of which was superb!

After lunch, we moved just down the road to Round Barn Winery.

Bill purchased enough to receive a special wine tote.

A lovely outdoor seating area to wait while the rest of our group made their purchases.  They even had a band playing up on the hill.

Next was Founders Winery.

And last was Shady Creek Winery in Michigan City, Indiana, where we went upstairs to a private tasting room.

The main tasting area taken from our loft.

And I failed to get a picture of the baggage area under the bus showing the cases of wine purchased.

On the way home, several asked when the next wine tasting tour was going to be.  I plan on having one put together soon for Spring 2016.
