Navy Pier Seadog Cruise
Wednesday, August 1, 2012

Our second group of 2 buses departed Century Center to head to Chicago for a Seadog Architectural Cruise off Navy Pier.  I headed directly to the Seadog ticket booth to pick up our 67 tickets and had to get a picture of this nice young gal who efficiently had our tickets all ready.

There was some time before our boarding time, so everyone was free to explore Navy Pier and have a bite to eat.

Paul was ready to dig into lunch from his favorite eatery on Navy Pier - the Twisted Lizard.

A few of our passengers waiting to board our cruise.

The docent/narrator on our cruise.

In the locks from the lake to the river.

After the river/architecture part of the cruise, we are headed out onto Lake Michigan for a fun speedboat ride.  It was very warm, so this was a great way to cool down a bit.  The scenery is breathtaking from far out onto Lake Michigan.  You must view the city from this vantage point.  Just wish I could have gotten a good photo of it.

Chicago's drinking water comes from Lake Michigan after a purification process.  This is the pumping station far from the shoreline.

It's time to return to the dock and get our passengers back to South Bend.
