Because of going to a casino again, there are minimal pictures, but I will try to give a good description of our experience and feelings about Rivers Casino, since this was our first time there.
The casino is situated very close to The Rosemont in quite a busy area. For a Monday, the casino was very busy. The gaming tables were full, with observers standing about 2-deep. It's a lovely new smoke-free casino which is larger than I was expecting.
Their buffet was not included, but we received a 25% discount because it was a Monday, so several decided to try it out. The variety and quality matched any casino buffet I have been to. Lunch was a little pricey, but with the 25% discount, I felt it was worth the price. And we had to keep in mind that we were in Chicago. Every week, the buffet has a section which features a different country. This week it was Brazil. There is also a sit down higher-end restaurant and a cafe-type eatery. The sandwiches and desserts in the display case in the cafe were huge and looked wonderful.
I had fried chicken, BBQ ribs, shrimp & grits, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and collard greens with pork. One of our regular passengers has opened my eyes to greens!
And my husband's carrot cake.
On the way home, I asked for a raise of hands from those who liked the casino and those who were not crazy about it. The response was around 50/50. But when I asked who would go back if another was scheduled, I'd estimate the raise of hands was around 75%.
I wasn't a winner, but I enjoyed visiting a different casino and the day away.
