The town of Whiting, Indiana hosts thousands every year for Pierogi Fest. Today, the streets were packed with hungry people checking out their favorite pierogi vendors.
These must have been new signs this year - I don't remember seeing them before. The one booth I missed this year was "Dunk A Nun".
There were not only pierogi, but also tacos............
and funnel cakes
And did you ever hear of a foot long grilled cheese?
Some of the vendors cooking in the booths.
My choice was sausage, sauerkraut, stuffed cabbage, and 3 pierogi.
You could even score the perfect hat!
The weather was perfect. Our departure time was right when it was starting to heat up.
I wish I had gotten a better picture of this fountain - black swans with aprons and babushkas.
Thank you so much to the Niezgodski sisters for allowing me to use some of their pictures.
