Photo Album 2013
Flower & Garden Show: There were fish and turtles......there were frogs.......and even bigger frogs!
Eli's Cheesecake: Then they pull a number for our guests to see who wins a cheesecake decorated to their liking. Rosie was the lucky winner this time and, boy, did she ever make a beauty!
FireKeepers & Rosie's March: Rosie had about 8 young gals helping her, so she got a bit of an easier day. The father of one of the volunteer helpers had serious heart surgery, so all proceeds was going to help with the hospital bill.
Vera Bradley: To our distinct pleasure, we were escorted through the line to the "special" door, given our pink bags, and directed right into the sales floor. Let the shopping begin!
Texas Ladies Club: I met with 19 lovely ladies at The Hampton Inn on U.S. 31/Indiana 933 from a ladies club in Texas who were touring Northern Indiana this week.
Laughlin: The flight originated in Lansing, Michigan, so I at assumed the passengers would at least be divided equally between South Bend and Lansing. I later learned that there were only 13 passengers who boarded the sold-out 161-passenger 737 aircraft in Lansing - the rest boarded in South Bend.
Gun Lake & FireKeepers: Visiting 2 casinos in the same day is not for the faint of heart!
1-Day Mystery Trip: Our theme for the day leaned toward "Going Green" in White County, Indiana.
Laughlin - July: On Friday, we purchased a day-pass on the Water Taxi and headed out to hit every casino on the boardwalk. All of the Captains are very eager to tell us their stories and experiences.
German Fest 2013: Our bus was filled to the brim as we headed to Milwaukee for German Fest on the festival grounds along the shores of Lake Michigan. The temperature was in the high 60's - just perfect after those high temps of a couple of weeks ago.
FireKeepers & Amish Benefit: The Amish community was holding a benefit dinner for a gentleman who had heart surgery, so rather than going to Rosie's for dinner, we attended the benefit BBQ and auction. The attendance from the entire community was outstanding!
Tunica & Graceland: Graceland.......here we come!
Jewelry & Fashion Show: When you walked into the exhibit hall, all you could say was "Oh My Goodness"!
FireKeepers & Rosie's: A trip that is always a hit, we were at maximum capacity for what Rosie can hold in her home. Her delicious meal explains why. She even had to take out the spare rocker and add an extra smaller table.
Gifts, Gadgets & Goodies: We then went into their salt cave. Oh my, how soothing and relaxing! I could have easily taken a nap in there!
Eli's Cheesecake: Eli's Cheesecake was holding it's Dock Sale, which was quite an experience. When we arrived, the parking lot and streets were packed with cars and there was a waiting line to get into the dock.
Frankenmuth: We arrived at Bronner's about 10 minutes prior to opening, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves for a while. The dazzle and sparkle nearly took your breath away when you walked in.
Cornwell's Turkeyville: And those yams and vegetable casserole were to die for!
Purdue Christmas Show: Upon our arrival, a golf cart arrived at our bus immediately to transport those that may have some mobility issues, even though the parking lot was only about a one block walk from Elliott Music Hall. What service!
IKEA: I had never been to an IKEA store and had no idea what was in store for me. There are enough ideas and displays to make you want to redecorate your entire home.
Progressive Dinner 2013: South Bend is so very fortunate to have these 3 gems within such a short distance of one another. We thank them for opening their homes to us for a lovely evening of fine food and wonderful socializing.
