3.3.11 - I wanted to thank you for the lovely trip on Sunday to see the Million Dollar Quartet. I had such a wonderful time! I enjoyed meeting everyone and the show was outstanding!! It was so nice to see the pictures of our fun day too, thanks for sharing!! Andrea G.
3.3.11 - I can't tell what a wonderful time I had Sunday. The show was great, the food was wonderful. I had never eaten at Connie's and think that place is a keeper. The people on the trip were great too. Looking forward to all the trips this year. Rose M.
3.5.11 - HAD A FABULOUS TIME ON SUNDAY TRIP TO CHICAGO. REALLY ROCKING. YOU ARE SO GOOD. Sherry L.
It was a rainy day in South Bend, so what better to do than travel to Chicago for an uplifting, wonderfully music-filled afternoon at the theatre!
Surprisingly, traffic was very light and we zipped right into the Chinatown area for lunch at Connie's Pizza - a delightful place which served us fabulous fresh bread, salad, and sausage, pepperoni and cheese pizzas.
As usual, no pictures are allowed at the theatre. I did snap a picture of the stage/set, but got my hands slapped, so I figured I better not post the picture here. The show was filled with fantastic music of the 50's by wonderful actors portraying Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins. The actor who portrayed Johnny Cash has his mannerisms down to a fine science. Our favorite was "Jerry Lee Lewis". He was a hoot and perfectly showed his music and athletic abilities.
