1.16.14: Thanks Becky it was a great trip and will see you on more down the line. Rick & Mary Lou W.
1.20.14 Thanks, Becky, for always doing such a great job. We have enjoyed every trip we've been on with you! The Laughlin trip was especially good for us! Tomi F.
Arrived at Bullhead City, Arizona International Airport late afternoon on Saturday and were transported to Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort by bus. There were 3 planes at the small airport (including ours), which is quite unusual. Seated toward the back of the plane, we had to wait for the forward passengers to exit.
Our bags were taken to the room for us and we had the evening free.
The Colorado River was very low, as seen from our room on the 26th floor. The fleet of buses, which I believe were shuttle buses, were in the parking lot across the river.
On Sunday morning, we went to mass, which is held in Don Laughlin's Celebrity Room, the same room where the shows are held. Breakfast followed mass.
After breakfast, we went to see Last Vegas. Very funny!
We had tickets to see an Elvis Impersonator that evening, which turned out to be an excellent show.
An autograph session was held in the lobby after the show.
On Monday, we visited several of the others casinos to spread our money around a bit, and shopped a bit in the outlet mall. Sue found the cutest birthday hat. Boy, her grandkids are not going to like it when they have to wear it on their birthdays.
There were so many good movies playing that we went to see two on Tuesday - Saving Mr. Banks and American Hustle. As we walked down the hall on the upper level, we saw that the Kingston Trio was having a Press Session in the afternoon. We had tickets for the show that evening, so we had to attend and had front row seats.
The Kingston Trio also put on a very good show with so many familiar songs that were easy to sing along with.
Early afternoon came on Wednesday and it was time to go home. That 5 days sure went fast and was a welcome break to the frigid cold weather we'd been having.
