Holocaust Museum and Buddhist Temple
We accompanied a small high school group, whose studies are World Religions, on a field trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Chicago and the Bodhi Path Buddhist Center in Skokie. We were not allowed to take pictures of the students, nor inside the Holocaust Museum or the Buddhist Center, so pictures are very limited.
The Holocaust Museum was very well set up and very informative. We had a wonderful docent who accompanied us through the exhibits. Box lunches were then served in a lunch room.
Our next stop was at the Bodhi Path Buddhist Center which was located in an office building in Skokie, Illinois. The room had an extremely quiet and serene air. There was insight into Buddhism with prayer and a question and answer session. Again, no pictures of the inside, but I should have taken a picture of the rows of shoes in the hallway outside the door. The building in itself was quite interesting.
The weather was cold and windy and Lake Michigan was rumbling.
All in all, it was quite an interesting day with the best, most well behaved high school seniors I have ever seen.
