12.8.13 Dear Becky Your pictures are wonderful! I really enjoyed our trip and your pictures really captured the fun of the trip! Thanks for all you do, you are a fab tour guide! Love your attitude! Thanks again! Love and Light Clara S.
This was the first time we had offered a trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan and what a super time we had!
Upon our arrival at Zehnder's Splash Village, we dropped off our bags to be delivered to our rooms, picked up a step-on guide from the Historical Society and headed back out for a city tour. This lady knew everything and anything about Frankenmuth. While on the tour, we stopped in at the magnificent St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
After the tour, we went to our rooms for a bit to freshen up and headed out for dinner and entertainment at Zehnder's Restaurant for the evening.
After being served their famous chicken dinner family style, The Marlins came on to entertain us. The Marlins are 4 brothers and a part of a musical family. They were fantastic, entertaining us with all types of music - Christmas, patriotic, big band, pop, with a whole lot of comedy thrown in. Everyone on the bus were still talking about the show on the way home the next day.
Being that our hotel was right next door to Bronner's, Paul, our driver, took us for a drive-thru "Christmas Lane" before heading to the hotel for the night. These pictures do this display no justice at all, being they were taken through the windshield of the bus.
In the morning, we had a superb full buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Isn't this just the cutest lobby for a splash village hotel?
And their pool and spa areas.
We arrived at Bronner's about 10 minutes prior to opening, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves for a while.
The dazzle and sparkle nearly took your breath away when you walked in.
If you had a theme in mind, they had an ornament for it. Several of the sections were arranged by color.
Paul, our driver, is always trying to catch me for a photo. I just couldn't dodge him on this one.
We then headed to St. Julian Winery for a wine tasting. Yummy....they were all good!
My purchases. Even a sparkling peach for mimosas. (The picture below - not the picture above.)
We then headed to downtown Frankenmuth for an hour or so of shopping, meeting at the Cheese Haus before heading for home. Even a photo opportunity!
A stop at Cracker Barrel rounded out a super 2-day trip with some of the most fun people we have had on our bus!
