FireKeepers Casino & Essenhaus
Being that Tuesday is Senior Citizen Day at FireKeepers, it was a very busy day there, with TravelStarz adding 57 bodies to the casino. Many of us played for an hour or so, went to have a bite to eat, then played some more until it was time to leave. There were 7 or 8 buses in the parking lot when we arrived.
Ordinarily after a visit to FireKeepers, we go to an Amish house for dinner. With this trip being scheduled in December and not knowing if the back roads would be snowy or icy, we scheduled our dinner at Das Dutchman Essenhaus instead. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. What a great way to end our 2015 traveling season!
We were seated for dinner served family style in the main dining room with a salad and homemade bread already on the table.
Then platters and bowls of chicken, ham, noodles, mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, and corn were brought out.
A variety or pies for everyone!
There was time for a little shopping in their gift shop while we waited for the bus to be brought around. And some chose to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and pose by one of the Christmas trees at the entrance.
While Linda showed off her winnings from FireKeepers. When I count the bills in the picture, it looks like she spent one of them in the gift shop.
