Eli's Cheesecake & Superior Nut Co.
November 10, 2010

Traffic flowed well on our way to Chicago, arriving a bit early, so we went to the Superior Nut and Candy Company first.   We found there was a nice array of nuts, chocolates, hard candies, etc.  My treasured finds were fresh jams for my Christmas Klatchkys!

After all of the purchases were made, we moved on to Eli's Cheesecake Factory.

We were first shown a slide presentation of how Eli Shulman got the idea to start this business many years ago.

Yes, there was a test during the presentation and those who knew the answers were rewarded with a piece of cheesecake to take home.  There was also a drawing and one lucky passenger won a cheesecake, which was decorated in the factory to her liking while we were in the decorating portion of the factory.

Our first peek inside was at the test kitchen, then we filed into the factory.  Of course, they did not allow us to take pictures inside the factory area.

Next came lunch!  We were served a choice of ham or turkey sandwiches, chips, soft drink and a piece of cheesecake from the large selection we were offered.

Before departing, we made our purchases.

And the start of the bags being stored in the luggage compartment of the bus.

I'm sure with all that our group purchased, Eli's will hope to see us back very soon!
