Chicago Flower & Garden Show
Many thanks to Carol A., Sherry G., and Diane N. for sharing your pictures.
We had a stellar day to visit the Chicago Flower & Garden Show. After several days of rain, the sun was shining bright, but it was still a bit cool. It was nice enough to go outside onto the pier and enjoy the lake and outdoors. There was quite of bit of construction toward the drop-off entrance of Exhibit Hall, as they are building a hotel on the pier. There was an enormous amount of traffic, as ComiCon was being held in Chicago.....all the more reason to take a bus and leave the maneuvering to Cardinal's experienced drivers.
A display at the entrance to the show.
There were also art displays dispersed throughout the show. We weren't sure of the theme, but it seemed several had clocks and hands, so we kind of thought maybe the theme was "Time on Your Hands", even though there were displays that did not reflect that.
And some usual flower displays.
There was also a large booth, which was quite busy, selling bulbs to plant this spring.
A glass blower with a beautiful display of glass vases, paper weights, etc. for sale.
Some outdoor patio and picnic furniture.
A cooking demonstration.
A wine tasting booth.
And a second wine tasting booth put on by PRP Wine International, which, of course, we had to do a wine tasting. Our Server was nice enough to take a picture with us, so we had to make a purchase.
And this was a bit of a strange art display at the exit of the show.
It was time to head for home.
All in all, it was a great way to celebrate spring!
