It was a brisk typical autumn afternoon when we headed to The Honeywell Center in Wabash, Indiana for an evening with Bobby Vinton. The Honeywell Center is a lovely venue which houses a 1,400+ seating theater.
They served up a very nice buffet dinner with roast beef, ham, fish, and vegetable lasagna as the entree choices.
It was then time to make our way down the hall to the theater.
His daughter Hannah and son Robbie accompany him in his shows. How is it that talent is always spread throughout entertainment families?
Bobby Vinton then came out into the audience on our side of the auditorium. Our seats were located is rows 6, 7 & 8, with the wide walk-aisle running behind row 8, where he strolled down and shook hands with the crowd.
I do believe we had the biggest Bobby Vinton fan there ever was on our bus! She was totally beside herself when he grabbed her hand......TWICE! Lee was positive he remembered her from sitting on her lap at a concert 30 years ago! We had sold out our 42 tickets, but when Paul, our driver, found out the night before that Lee was such a great fan, he gave up his ticket to her. Thank you, Paul!
There was a couple in the audience celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary, so they danced while he sang The Anniversary Song to them.
Paul was waiting for us as we exited The Honeywell Center and we headed for home. What a great evening!
